The majority of emergency and fire crews have cleared the scene of a possible fire just on the outskirts of the city, in the area of Farries Drive, southeast of Airdrie city limits, near Range Road 291.
Earlier this evening, Mounties confirmed that at approximately 6:38 p.m. RCMP received a call of a fire incident. According to police, there were reports of an outer building on fire, but no other details were given as to the cause of the incident.
There is no word on whether anyone was injured in the incident, though motorists reported seeing smoke when travelling along Yankee Valley Boulevard.
