Mounties confirmed that one man died as a result of a multi-vehicle collision in Airdrie on Thursday.

Police were called to the collision just after midnight, which occurred off of Main Street south, in the vicinity of Elk Hill southeast. 

Police confirmed that both Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and fire crews attended the collision, along with an RCMP reconstructionist. The individual was taken to the hospital, but police said they were later pronounced deceased. 

No other details were available on the individual or the cause of the collision.
