March 7 was a special day for the 100 Airdrie Women Who Care as they donated the largest amount yet to Airdrie P.O.W.E.R.

100 Airdrie Women Who Care is a group of Airdronian ladies that donate $100 quarterly to local non-profit groups. The group was formed back in 2016.

Jane LeBlanc, an organizer of the group was ecstatic to see so many women come out to Brella Vida for a good cause.

"I think, It was actually our most successful event so far, It was really nice to have a lot of our members come out in person. Obviously, in the past couple of years, we haven't been able to do a lot of things in person."

According to LeBlanc, they are oh so close to donating the full $10,000 as they are currently sitting around $9000.

'It felt really great for us to be able to have them be our successful charity. They presented just letting us know that they were they're struggling in the community right now. I think it really pulled on people's heartstrings. So we're really hoping to get some that $10,000."

Airdrie P.O.W.E.R. is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide women in Airdrie and District with the means to leave an abusive environment through emergency resources, education and empowerment, thus creating a safe and sustainable community.
