A 21-year-old man has been subsequently arrested for threatening staff at the Airdrie Walmart Supercentre earlier this evening.
According to the RCMP, a lone suspect had entered Walmart acting erratically, verbally threatened staff and stated he had a firearm.
RCMP attended and prevented further access to Walmart while they conducted a search of the area.
Ultimately, RCMP was able to identify and arrest the suspect five blocks away.
The suspect remains in custody while RCMP continues to investigate this incident
