Airdrie Hockey Player Josh Davies has just turned tragedy into triumph.

Two months after his insulin pump was stolen from the Ron Ebbesen Arena, Davies is a World Champion along with the Western Canada Selects team.

The club took home the Gold Medal last weekend after beating Dynamo, Russia 2-0 in the final game of the World Selects Invitational in Chamonix, France.

During the tournament, Davies had one goal against Pro Hockey Club and one assist in the preliminary round against MCH Vancouver.

The competitions don't end for the local hockey star as he travels to Lethbridge to take part in the Prospects Cup Tournament.
