It might not be raining tonight (January 19) inside the Ron Ebbesen Arena in Airdrie, but there will be plenty of Thunder and Lightning.

The Airdrie Thunder will take on the Stettler Lightning in Heritage Junior Hockey League action beginning at 8:00 pm.

It's the fourth meeting of the season between the two clubs with the Thunder winning the previous three games which would make you suspect that tonight's game wouldn't be much of a contest.  Perhaps you should think again.

Although Airdrie's emerged victorious in those three games, all but one of them have been decided by one goal with one game going to overtime.  The last time they met on December 15th, the Thunder built up leads of 7 - 1 and 8 - 3 before having to hang on and win in a nail-biter 8 - 7.

Not only will Airdrie have their own game to worry about, they'll likely be doing some scoreboard watching of the game in Didsbury between the Mountainview Colts and Red Deer Vipers.

Heading into tonight's action the Vipers are just two points up on the Thunder in the race for first place in the HJHL Northern Division.

That game also gets underway at 8:00 pm.

Tomorrow night, the Thunder and Vipers go head to head in Red Deer.
