The City of Airdrie has supported the idea of the local Ag Society building an Agricultural and Recreational Park just west of our city limits. Back in March, Airdrie council asked city staff to study and report back on the feasibility of Airdrie partnering with the Ag Society to bring water and sewer service to the park. That report was presented on Monday night to city council. Brenda Moon is President of the Ag Society and says one of the better plans for water and sewer provision has hit a roadblock.

Moon does say, though, that there is a Plan B in place for water and sewer service to the park.

The report Monday also indicated that funding requested from the province for the park has been much slower than anticipated due to balancing of the budget.  Moon says they'll re-evaluate where they are in the next three or four months and keep fundraising to move the plan ahead.
