With the holiday season just around the corner, lately, gas prices have been heading in the right direction, but Airdrie still seems to be lagging behind with the price changes.

Right now in Airdrie, regular gas prices sit around the $1.399 mark.

When comparing to Red Deer, the two cities have around the same price. But when comparing to Calgary and Edmonton, Airdrie is at least 10 cents behind in price. Edmonton sits around the $1.269 mark while Calgary is around $1.299.

In Premier Danielle Smith's announcement about tackling inflation, she did announce they will be suspending the provincial gas tax for at least three months. The government just recently reinstated a 4.5-cent provincial gas tax a few months before this announcement.

In a previous interview Patrick De Haan, who is head of Petroleum Analysis at GasBuddy predicted gas prices would continue in the same direction barring any unexpected outages or disruptions.

Diesel, on the other hand, is staying within the range of the $2 mark sitting around $1.899 in Airdrie largely due to the shortage of supplies.
