The Toronto Blue Jays are back in the playoff spotlight for one game tonight against their division rivals the Baltimore Orioles.

It's no surprise that the team's recent success has put baseball back on the Canadian watch list, even in Airdrie.

President of Airdrie Little League Baseball Stephen Kennedy says the Jays popularity was noticeable from the start.

"We watched our registration grow by 12 percent...when we had our evaluations, 60 to 70 percent of the kids were wearing Blue Jay gear so it was evident that they made a difference."

The Little League Summer season ended in July, but they're currently gearing up for their Fall Ball program.

"The district that we run under, they organized a fall ball season," says Kennedy, "Now it's allowed the kids to play Baseball till the snow flies."

So who will tonight's Wild Card game? "my fingers are crossed for the Blue Jays," says Kennedy, "It'll all come down to pitching and a timely swing of the bat."
