An Airdrie Hockey player has made quite the first impression so far with his new College Hockey team.

Former Airdrie Xtreme and Edge Hockey student, Erik Pedersen, transferred to the State University of New York-Geneso from Michigan Tech in the off season.

In just 6 games so far this year, Pedersen already has 6 assists and is a +2 on the ice.

Pedersen has traveled a long ways in his hockey career since finishing with the Xtreme in 2010 and graduating from the Edge program in 2012.

He spent nearly three seasons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons, the Calgary Canucks and Whitecourt Wolverines. Pedersen also played for the Flin Flon Bombers in Saskatchewan before moving on to college hockey in Michigan, Ontario and now Geneseo, New York.

Pedersen is still searching for his first goal of the season and will hope to score that this weekend when the Geneseo Knights play back to back games with the Morrisville State Mustangs in North Carolina.
