A few local hockey players may be heading to the 2022 World Junior Hockey Championship.
 
On Wednesday (Dec.1), Hockey Canada announced the players invited to the World Juniors selection camp. From there, Team Canada will build a roster for the upcoming tournament.
 
 Among the list of players invited to the camp is Airdrie's Jake Neighbours.
 
Neighbours was a first-round pick back in 2020 selected by the St.Louis Blues.
 
The Blues have recently assigned Neighbors back to the Western Hockey League with the Edmonton Oil Kings where he will spend the rest of the WHL season.
 
In his nine appearances with the Blues, Neighbours had a goal and an assist.  He scored his first NHL goal on October 23rd in a 7 - 3 Blues win over the L.A. Kings.
 
The selection camp takes place in Calgary from Dec. 9-13.
 
Ronan Seeley, a 6'1" defenseman from Olds was also named to the Selection Camp Roster who currently plays for the Everett Silvertips. Seely was also drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes back in 2020.
 
The World Juniors run from Dec.26 to Jan.5 in Edmonton and Red Deer.
