Pull out your big book of sports cliches tonight (March 18) and insert one or more in this sentence.  The Airdrie Techmation Thunder....
"....face a do or die situation."
"....have their backs to the wall."
"....must win or go home."

Whichever cliche you choose it fits the Thunder's situation heading into the sixth game of the best-of-seven Heritage Junior Hockey League North Division final with the Sylvan Lake Wranglers.  Last night the Wranglers put up a stone wall and blanked the Thunder 3 - 0 in Sylvan Lake to take a three games to two lead in the series.  Another win at the Ron Ebbesen Arena tonight will send Sylvan Lake to the HJHL final to face the Okotoks Carstar Bisons who eliminated Medicine Hat earlier this week in four straight.  A win by the Thunder will force game seven tomorrow afternoon at 4:45 pm in Sylvan Lake.

A 14-second span in the second period proved to be Airdrie's undoing as the Wranglers scored two goals, with the first coming from Tate Causey at the 6:52 mark and the second off the stick of Karson Ledieu at 7:06.  The Wranglers sealed the deal with an empty-net marker from Ethan Alvarez with just 56 seconds remaining in the third.

Sylvan Lake goalie Kaden Toussaint stopped 22 shots for the shutout while Airdrie's Josh Feddema faced 28 shots in a losing cause.

Tonight's game six at the Ron Ebbesen gets underway at 8:00 pm
