Airdrie goaltender Aaron Dell with spend time with the LA Kings during their NHL playoff run.

He will be the third goaltender for the team behind Cam Talbot and David Rittich.

The 34-year-old from Airdrie was signed by the Los Angeles Kings to a one-year, two-way contract with an average annual value of $775,000 USD back in March.

Most of this season he has spent with the Kings affiliate team the Ontario Reign. During the season he has a 7-4-1 record with a 2.57 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage.

Before signing and playing for the Reign, Dell represented Canada on the national stage at the Spengler Cup and posted a 2-2 record.

During the course of his career, the six-foot, 213-pound netminder has appeared in 130 NHL games over parts of eight seasons, including 111 with San Jose, where he made his NHL debut in October of 2016.  He spent time with the New Jersey Devils where he played seven games, and with the Buffalo Sabres where he made it into 12 games.  His NHL stats include a 2.92 goals-against-average, a .905 save percentage, five shutouts and a record of 50-50-13.

The Kings are currently down 1-0 in their series against the Edmonton Oilers. Game two is tonight at 8 p.m.
