Josh Davies, an Airdrie Resident had quite an interesting hockey season, starting out with the Western Hockey League's Swift Current Broncos and ending with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Charlotte Checkers.

Davies' WHL team, the Broncos, unfortunately, missed the playoffs. However, he himself had a very productive season. In 62 games played, Davies recorded 34 points, 20 goals and 14 assists.

The Florida Panthers selected Davies with the 186th overall choice in the sixth round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Davies gets to spend some time with the Charlotte Checkers, the Panthers' affiliate, even though his Junior Hockey League season is over.

While being with the Checkers for the end of their regular season and playoff run, Davies was able to play in one regular season game, unfortunately, he did not play in the playoffs.

"I'm down here for more so the experience and get to know all the guys."

With the next season already on the horizon, Davies explained what his season looks like as of right now.

"I got one more year left in junior and then after that onto the pro leagues and then hopefully the NHL."

With that being said Davies, has high hopes for next year with the Broncos and hopes they can have an amazing season.

"Hopefully for myself, it's just to continue developing as a player and a person that Florida wants and to hopefully sign a contract with them."

Davies mentioned he will be down in Florida for a development camp, the rookie tournament and then the main training camp with the Panthers.
