For Alberta children between the ages of six months and five years, COVID-19 vaccine appointments are currently available.

Parents and guardians can schedule appointments for a child's initial Moderna COVID-19 vaccination beginning on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

"We are happy to now offer a vaccine for families with children under the age of five," says health minister Jason Copping. "We are giving parents the information they need to make that decision because they are in the best position to determine if the immunization is best for their children."

The COVID vaccine will be administered at Alberta Health Service clinics all around the province.

First dose appointments by calling Health Link at 811 or you can book through the Alberta Vaccine Booking System.

It is advised that children between the ages of six months and eleven years old take two primary doses, separated by at least eight weeks.

More than 234,000 Albertans between the ages of six months and five are currently qualified to receive the COVId-19 shot.
