Angela Pitt, United Conservative Party (UCP) member has been re-elected for a third term as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Airdrie East.

Pitt is ecstatic to be back as MLA.

"It's just truly an honour. I'm so grateful for the support of the constituents here in Airdrie East. I feel like I'm in this thing for the right reasons and I have a genuine interest in serving the people of this area."

Pitt called it an honour to be able to continue working for the people of Airdrie East for the next four years.

"We've been told that this was always going to be a tight election. I think that it's been an interesting, past four years. Coming out of a global pandemic has its own unique set of unprecedented challenges, which I think are certainly reflected in the results here today. People still showed up, and they cast their ballot at the end of the day, which is great."

When asked what emotions she was feeling when it was officially announced that she has been re-elected, she couldn't be any happier.

"At the end of the day, the people of Airdrie East chose a UCP candidate to be their representative, and I don't take that duty lightly."

UCP Peter Guthrie has been re-elected as MLA of Airdrie - Cochrane while UCP Nathan Cooper has also been re-elected for Olds - Didsbury - Three Hills.
