On Monday afternoon, Environment and Climate Change Canada ended its extreme cold warning for Ardrie and the surrounding areas.

And although temperatures will remain frigid for another few days, Airdrie residents may see yet another wild temperature swing by the end of the first week of March.

According to local forecasts, while Monday evening is expected to see a windchill nearing -37 degrees overnight, with similarly arctic temperatures on Tuesday, mid-week appears to be warming.

Wednesday's daytime high is expected to be -8, while Thursday will see a return to plus-side temperatures. Friday will see seven degrees; and by Saturday, temperatures may soar to 11 degrees the freezing mark.
