Day three of competition is underway for Pool ‘B’ contestants at the Calgary Stampede rodeo.

Wednesday proved to be a great day for a couple of area cowboys.

Cochrane's Tanner Milan is now tied for third place overall in Pool 'B' steer wrestling. Milan pocketed $3,000 yesterday, getting his steer down in four seconds flat.

If he can keep the pace throughout Thursday and Friday he'll punch his ticket straight to the Sunday showdown.

Meanwhile, Kyle Lucas from Carstairs, is inching his way up the standings in tie-down roping.

Lucas earned $2,500 with his catch, toss and tie, taking just under 8 seconds. The run put him in 4th place for the day and 6th overall.

If either of the cowboys doesn’t make it through they’ll still have a chance on wildcard Saturday.
