It was a tough start to their existence for the newest team in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League on Saturday.

The Rocky View Attack Senior Ladies team were blanked 10 - 0 by the Calgary Cougars in front of their home fans at the Plainsman Arena in Airdrie.

Despite the one sided score, Coach Ken Crossley saw a lot of positives.  "We succeeded in executing a lot of stuff that we worked on prior to.  You don't get a whole lot of practices prior to the season.  Although it was a lopsided score, there were a lot of victories that we finished up with."

One of the highlights was the goaltending of Emma Pincott.  "Our goaltending was outstanding, Emma really stood on her head, so to say, and came up really big.  Our defence showed really well.  We were unable to generate any offense, but again it's a learning curve for a lot of the girls."

Pincott hasn't played lacrosse for several years and Crossley says she just picked up where she left off.

The team now has a week between games to work on things, including getting some numbers to help them out.  "You can tell by the third period everyone was getting a little gassed.  We're hoping we can get a few more numbers on the bench Saturday and that will really help us out too."

The Attack play their next game against the Sherwood Park Senior Titans on Saturday, April 29th starting at 1:30 pm at the Plainsman Arena.
