A record of one win and four losses could be seen as a disappointment for a lot of teams but for the young Rocky View Attack Senior Ladies it shows they're making progress.

The Attack are in their first year of existence in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League.  Their first win came last Wednesday (May 16), a 9 - 8 victory over the Red Deer Rage.  Head Coach Ken Crossley says the team has been getting better every game.  "Every game has been progression and a learning stage for us.  We know that we've still got a tough road to go in front of us playing some tough teams again after playing Red Deer."

Crossley thinks every aspect of the Attack's game has improved but there's something else that's even more important.  "Actually I think it's more of an understanding of all around systems.  We're getting a little bit on defence, we're getting a little stronger on offense, we were fortunate to start with strong goaltending out of the gate.  The beauty is we're improving in all directions."

The team's attitude is the thing that Crossley is most pleased about.  "Probably the thing that stands out the most with this team is they jelled early in the season and nothing seems to faze them no matter what they're faced with.  They keep coming out positive and finishing hard no matter what the circumstances are."

Numbers, or the lack of them, is affecting the team at times.  Crossley explains, "It's really hard on any athlete when in this type of sport you have to run with a limited amount of runners when you could have three or four more on the bench."

The Attack will be out to continue improving and try to make it two wins in a row when they play their next game in Sherwood Park against the Titans, Saturday, May 27th.
