The Airdrie Bisons began the 2017 Mac's Midget Hockey Tournament yesterday (December 26th) against the Valley West Hawks.

The Bisons had a great start to the game with Luke Jensen scoring the opening goal while Jake Petrie made it 2-1 before the end of the first period.

Petrie would add another goal midway through the second period to give the Bisons a 3-2 lead before Nolan Krogfoss tied it for the Hawks later in the period.

Despite countless efforts from the Bisons to regain the lead, the Hawks would forge ahead, scoring with just over two minutes left and adding an empty netter to take the game 5-3.

Steven Bacovsky stayed in goal throughout the game, making 26 saves.

The Bisons continue their run at the Mac's Tournament today (December 27th) as they take on the Ontario Jr. Reign from California.

Puck is set to drop at 11:45am at the Father David Bauer Arena.
