For the first time since 2004, the Bow Valley High Bobcats are Provincial Champs.

Don Teece, Bobcats, Coach, says the boys played against the Stettler Wildcats. Although, the Bobcats were down 7-1 in the first half; the team rose to the challenge and came out ahead 22-13.

Teece says looking back to the start of the year they had some really great players on the team.

"At the beginning of the year we had a number of really good quality grade 12 football players; in high school football that makes big a difference, especially in the Tier 4 level. So we really felt at the beginning of the year we had a good team but then as we got to the playoffs we really gelled and really came to the front."

Thomas Cameron, Brad Hillier, Austin Javorsky, Rylan Waugh were some of the names that really stood out to Teece, but there are some new players coming up who he is pretty excited about.

"We have an incredible group of grade 10's that we had this year, when you win at a championship at our level that goes along way as well. The grade 12's are obviously really important but we had some grade 10's who are starters, and we have another group of grade 10's that will come in who are starters and leaders next year."

Teece adds although the Bobcats will say goodbye to some teammates this year, 2017 looks promising.

"So we'll have a big turnover but we're also going to have a big solid football team next year."
