Update:

As of today, (January 27) an autopsy has been completed, but with the investigation still underway, details about the findings of the autopsy will be released at a later date.

Original Story:

Today's earlier police presence all started after a body was discovered.

Airdrie RCMP responded to a complaint of an unresponsive male found along the pathway of Nose Creek, behind the Willowbrook neighbourhood. RCMP can confirm that a deceased person was located. At this time the death is believed to be suspicious and the RCMP are still investigating.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken carriage of the investigation and the Forensic Identification Section has also been called in to assist.

An autopsy has been ordered by the office of the Chief Medical Examiner and will be conducted in the coming days.

The body was removed from the scene at approximately 2 P.M.

An update will be provided when further details can be released.
