City Council gave it's third reading on Wednesday, October 26, for a bylaw to form a Council Budget Committee.

Now that it's approved, the committee will oversee and review all budget and financial matters that come through City Council.

These matters include:

  • Capital and operating expenditures
  • Audit Findings Report
  • The quarterly business planning and budget updates
  • Annual Financial Reports
  • Financial Information Returns
  • The Auditor's Year End Management Letter
  • Investment portfolios
  • Adjustments to the budget 
  • Review of financial policies and procedures

The committee will be made up of the Mayor and six Councillors, who will remain in office for the duration of their elected term.
