It is that time of year again when registration opens up for a multitude of spring time sports.

Cochrane Minor Ball has registration open and will continue until they fill up.

Kayley MacLennan Administration and Operations Coordinator for Cochrane Minor Ball, says being down a diamond at Mitford has caused some challenges.

"This year due to the growth in population but not in the growth of baseball diamonds we are forced to cap registrations."

MacLennan says each league will cap at a different number.

"It's different per league, T-Ball we will allow a few extra kids to register but minor/major we really have to cut our numbers there."

Although Registration has been open since January 15th, MacLennan says they still have room and will continue to take registration until March 1st or until they fill. Anyone ages 5-18 are welcome to join and can find information here.

Cochrane Minor Soccer registration will open on February 17th for the outdoor league, and while no changes to play have been announced yet; there is a meeting on February 24th which could see some potential changes.

Mike Fox, General Manager for Cochrane Minor School, says they try to keep things fairly consistent.

"We're doing grassroots, we have our development section and then we have our tiered league play which is our more competitive layout. We are pretty consistent for what we offered compared to prior year's. And obviously we try to execute in line with Soccer Canada's long term  player development plan.

Fox anticipates numbers to be up again this year and a full league. To register for Cochrane Minor Soccer you can click here.

Bow Valley Rugby will open it's registration on March 1st, and while there are no 'come try rugby dates' scheduled at the moment, anyone ages 5-adult are welcome to sign up for the upcoming season.

Francine Horton, Administrator with Bow valley Rugby, says they have 200 members and are hoping to increase again this year. Horton says they now have two adult teams and members enjoy the long playing season. The season gets underway end of April, and registration information can be found here.
