The Team Canada U18 squad played it's only pre-tournament game prior to the start of the Hlinka Gretzky Cup today (August 3) in Slovakia.

Canada, with Jake Neighbours of Airdrie in the lineup, scored three goals in 1:34 during the last five minutes of the first period and cruised to a 4 - 1 victory over the Slovaks.

Neighbours didn't factor in the scoring for Canada, who outshot Slovakia 26 - 14.

Canada will now travel to Breclav in the Czech Republic where they'll begin play in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup on Monday, taking on Finland.  Canada is looking to repeat as tournament champions.  In 28 years, Canada has captured gold 22 times.
