With the exam break wrapping up, the Bert Church Chargers senior boys basketball team is itching to get back on the hardwood.

Head Coach Michael Sera hopes the team can come off the break with some of the magic they had on the courts before.

"We've got on a little bit of a roll, you know. We've won a few games here, put a nice little winning stretch together. We're here into the exam break, so you hope that you come out of this exam break and keep some momentum."

The team started the season banged and bruised. Sera says at this point, they've recovered as much as they will.

"We've got back the healthy bodies we're going to get back. Unfortunately there's a couple seniors I don't think are going to return this year. their season is over."

The Chargers' next Rocky View league game is against the Bow Valley Bobcats on February 1, but they are already looking forward to facing their cross town rivals, the George McDougall Mustangs, on February 7. Right now, both teams are undefeated in Rocky View league play.

"We've got to approach it like any other game, you know. We've preached that every game we have to go with the same mindset whether we're playing, for example, George McDougall or anybody else. We have to play our game, we have to do what we've been practising."
