The Bert Church Chargers had a stellar evening of volleyball last night (September 20) in crosstown matches against the Croxford Cavaliers, sweeping their four games.

Meanwhile, the George McDougall Mustangs junior teams got a little more gameplay under their belts in exhibition games against the Beiseker Bandits.

Chargers - Cavaliers

It was a good night for the Chargers, who couldn't stop winning against the Cavaliers.

The JV boys Chargers used home court to their advantage, taking three out of four sets. The Chargers came out hot, winning set one 25-23 and set two 25-20. The Cavs bounced back to win set three 25-14, but Bert Church finished things off in the fourth set, 25-22.

Across town, the JV girls Chargers played almost an identical match. The Chargers also took set one 25-23 and set two 25-20 before dropping a set to Croxford. The Cavaliers managed to take set three 25-18, but they couldn't match Bert Church who claimed the game in the final set, 25-22.

The senior girls Chargers also managed to pull off a road win in the Cavaliers' gym. Bert Church took set one 25-15 before falling to the Cavs in set two 25-22. The Chargers rallied and won the next two sets, taking set three 25-22 and set four 25-13.

The Chargers' senior boys squad also pulled off a 3-1 win. The Chargers dominated the first set 25-15, but the Cavaliers bounced back, taking the second 25-22. The Cavaliers momentum was shortlived however, as the Chargers won set three 25-22 and ended things in the fourth set 25-13.

Mustangs - Bandits

The junior George Mac squads welcomed the Beiseker Bandits to the Mustang Corral for a couple of exhibition games.

The junior ladies Mustangs made short order of the bandits, winning three straight sets.

The junior boys Bandits fared a little better, but the Mustangs were able to claim the match 3-1.

Both senior Mustang teams had the night off.
