In the nearly nine years his business has been operating in Cochrane, Napa Auto Parts owner Gerry Jackson says his store has been robbed at least eight times. The most recent violation took place in the early hours of January 7 when the front door was smashed and thieves took off with the cash box along with a variety of expensive merchandise.

While no culprits have ever been caught in the previous robberies, the store is armed with a security system that has alerted Jackson and police to past break-ins. Jackson is checking into why the alarm system didn't go off during the most recent incident.

Jackson estimated the last break-in would likely cost him around $3000. He said he had no idea who might be responsible for the robbery or if it might be connected with previous break-ins. He was confident, though, it's someone who has been in the store before based on their knowledge of its layout.

Gerry is generous, taking great pleasure in helping out community groups with his profits, but says these thefts put a crimp in his ability to give to those in need.

He's hoping Cochrane residents will keep an eye open for suspicious activity around his store.

Anyone with information regarding these robberies should contact the Cochrane RCMP detachment at 403-851-8000 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
