The Mountainview Colts hoped for a big result last night (January 24) as they took on the Ponoka Stampeders.

The Didsbury based team got off to a great start scoring the first goal of the game off a shot from Caden Switzer.

After Ponoka tied the game a few minutes later, Corbin Houchin got the lead back on a power-play goal.

The Stampeders quickly tied the game on a power play of their own leaving both teams in a deadlock at the end of the first period.

Only one goal came in the second period when Ponoka's Kieran Bulloch scored to give his team the lead.

After falling down 4-2 early in the third period, the Colts turned on the jets and mounted a fierce comeback. Colton Anderson scored the Colts fourth goal of the game late in the third period, but his team couldn't find the equalizer as the final score stood at 5-4 for the Stampeders.

The Colts will look to rebound on Saturday (January 27th) as they travel to Red Deer to take on the first place Vipers.
