A huge community mural beside Glenbow Elementary School in Cochrane will be officially unveiled this Sunday afternoon as part of Alberta Arts Days.

Artists, volunteers and children from all over town contributed to the project, which was initiated by Cochrane Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) and coordinated by local artist Jola Muran for the Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane and Area.

The mural graces all four sides of the new Glenbow Boys and Girls Club and depicts a variety of western heritage and local landscape images. The mural was designed by four high school students and took a month for volunteers (including local school children) to complete.

The ceremony starts at 1:30 pm. Mayor Truper McBride and other dignitaries will be in attendance.
