Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw gave the provincial update on COVID-19 today (November 30)

Another 1,733 active cases have been found bringing the provincial total to 16,454.  Approximately 20,500 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, bringing Alberta's positivity rate to 8.4%.

Dr. Hinshaw says she knows everyone is tired of COVID-19 but reminds everyone that the virus does not let up, so neither should Albertans. She went on to thank everyone who is doing everything they can to mimimize the spread and for accomodating last weeks press conference regarding new, tighter, regulations. Hinshaw also addressed the past weekends anti-mask rallies in Calgary. When asked about her thoughts on the level of enforcement towards the rally she says it's about finding a balance.

"It's important to remember that there is a democratic right to express concerns. We have issued guidance with respect to rallies and demonstrations that include measures for how individuals who want to express opinions can keep themselves and others safe. The guidance for rallies and demonstrations was put together with the intent of balancing the rights of expression with the need to watch out for our communities."
