UPDATE: Calgary Police have released the following statement via Twitter.

"Police have located the senior that was reported missing last week in the community of Scenic Acres. Unfortunately, they were found deceased. As this death was not criminal in nature, no other details will be released. Thank you to the public and the media for your assistance."

The original story follows.

The family of a missing Calgary man is hoping Airdronians can help bring 72-year-old Greg Polkowski home.

His daughter Olivia Polkowski says Greg was last seen leaving his home in the northwest neighbourhood of Scenic Acres one week ago.

"Monday night, February 20, he left the house at 7:20 p.m. The security cameras of our house just showed him going out as if for a walk."

"The police have been looking for him for almost a week now, but so far there's been absolutely nothing. We're just wanting him to come home."

"He just disappeared as if he just vanished from thin air."

"He had a bad cough and some breathing issues. So it's possible but he just wanted to get some fresh air. He likes nature. He could have just gone for a walk, but we just don't know where he is."

"We're just asking the public to look on their property and snowbanks, under trees, in bushes, even in their sheds, just for any kind of evidence of my dad."

Anyone with information about Greg's whereabouts is asked to call police directly at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or calgarycrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips app.
