An Airdrie Hockey player is already a winner at the Telus Cup in Prince George.

Former Airdrie Xtreme Ryan Straschnitzki and the Leduc Oil Kings won their first game of the tournament yesterday (April 24th), 4-1 over the host Cariboo Cougars.

Although Straschnitzki was without a goal, his team came through in a big way putting up 29 shots against the Cougars, while their goalie Easton Hesse made 39 saves in the win.

Straschnitzki and the Oil Kings are back on the ice tonight (April 25th) to face the Atlantic regional winners, the Cape Breton West Islanders. Puck drop is at 5pm.
