Airdrie's Kurtis Chapman is still buzzing after winning his first Junior A Title last week.

The former Xtreme goalie was stellar in net as he helped the Portage Terriers come back to win the MJHL title, a moment he's still smiling over.

"It felt really good especially since last year I wasn't able to play in the playoffs. It felt really good to come back and still have my groove."

Chapman remained in net for the team even after the Terriers fell 2 games to none to the OCN Blizzard and needed a spark.

"The start was definitely hard for us...we had to fight back which everyone came together and did that."

The success with the Terriers on top of his past championship win in Strathmore with the Bisons makes Chapman happy knowing that his hard work on the ice and training with the Explosive Edge program paid off.

With the trophy in his hands, Chapman is now lookig forward to the next step, the Western Canada Cup, with a berth in the RBC Cup on the line. The Terriers will join the Brooks Bandits, Chilliwack Chiefs, Battlefords North Stars and Penticton Vees in the Regional Tournament which starts Sunday (April 30th).
