Many in Airdrie and Calgary are doing what they can to support their neighbours in British Columbia.

Mireille Evans, a Fort McMurray evacuee currently living in Calgary posted the desire to help victims of the BC fires on the Facebook page Calgary Helps YMM and Now BC.

AIR 106.1 is doing their part to help Mireille's efforts by being a drop off point for donations they plan to send to BC.

Evans says that they hope to take a load of the donations to Kamloops on Friday.

Among some of the many items the group is hoping to collect are bottles of water, first aid supplies, clothes, food and gift cards to help evacuees.

You can see a list of the items through the link to the Facebook page.
