With school officially starting Tuesday, this is the last long weekend of summer and there are some fire restrictions and advisories in place.

As of right now, Airdrie does not have any restrictions or advisories in place, along with our neighbour Cochrane.

Just outside of Airdrie, Rocky View County (RVC) does have a fire advisory in place for both East and West RVC. Mountain View County has zero restrictions or advisories in place.

If you plan on heading to the mountains for the long weekend some advisories and restrictions are in place. The Calgary forest area, Canmore and Banff National Park all have advisories in place while Jasper National Park has a fire restrction active.

Wheatland County and, the Town of Strathmore all have an advisory in place. Foothills County, Vulcan County and County of Newell have restrictions in place.

As for weekend weather, Saturday and Sunday look to be hot days with the temperature in the high 20s while Monday looks like we can see some rain with the temperature in the high teens.
