With daytime temperatures expected to hover around 30 degrees for the next few days, Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning for the area.

This combined with overnight lows in the mid teens will make for potentially dangerous conditions.

We're being reminded to stay safe during this heat wave by trying to reschedule outdoor activities during the cooler parts of the day.

Making sure to take frequent breaks from the heat, and to spend time in a cooled indoor space when possible.

Don't forget to drink lots of water and other non-alcoholic and non-caffeinated drinks to stay hydrated.

Make sure you double check for your children and pets before leaving your vehicle.

Keep an eye out for symptoms of heat stroke or heat exhaustion. That includes high body temperature, lack of sweat, confusion, fainting and unconsciousness.

Temperatures are expected to moderate as we head into the Canada Day long weekend.

Areas included in the Heat Warning include Airdrie, Cochrane, Olds, and Sundre.
