It was good news for home teams in last night's (March 1) slate of Rocky View basketball playoff games. A number of Airdrie and Cochrane junior teams fought hard to keep their playoff hopes alive.

In JV girls action, the Bow Valley Bobcats kept their storybook season going with a 58-39 win over the W.H. Croxford Cavaliers. The George McDougall Mustangs also advanced after a 47-32 win against the Springbank Phoenix. The Bert Church Chargers were eliminated from the playoffs, falling 66-17 against the Chestermere Lakers.

Meanwhile in JV boys action, the W.H. Croxford extinguished the George McDougall Mustangs chances with a 73-32 win. Bert Church also moved into the next round after a 60-27 win over the Bow Valley Bobcats.

The junior teams will be back at it on Friday (March 3). The lady Bobcats will face off against the Chestermere Lakers, while the girls Mustangs will battle the Cochrane Cobras. As for the boys, Bert Church will go head to head with Croxford, while the Cochrane Cobras will face the Springbank Phoenix after a first round bye.
