With yesterday's (July 8) win over the Lloydminster Vandals, the Airdrie Irish accomplished something they've never done before in team history.

The Irish beat the Vandals 39 - 14 at Genesis Field in Airdrie and now have a 3 and 3 record this season marking the first time they've hit the .500 mark.

Running back Braxton Hyland had a big game for the Irish, scoring a touchdown and leading the team in rushing.

James Balsdon and Dan Sparks were on the receiving end of TD passes from quarterback Andrew Stanix who played well again in his second straight start.

Dylan Webb picked off a Vandal pass and returned it for a touchdown in the second quarter.

It was the second straight win for the Irish who'll be back on the Genesis Field next Saturday, July 15th at 6:00 to play the Central Alberta Bucaneers.
