The Airdrie Irish are boldly going where they've never gone before....the playoffs!

The four and four Irish finished fifth this season in the Alberta Football League and get their first taste of playoff action in the team's history when they travel to St. Albert tonight (August 12) to play the Stars.

The Stars finished fourth in the AFL, just ahead of the Irish with a five and three record.

When the two teams met earlier this season, the Stars handed the Irish a 44 - 10 loss.  That though was in the first half of the season when the Irish went one and three.  In the second half the Irish were much improved and went three and one so Airdrie is expecting good things tonight.

The game is scheduled for 6:00 pm at Riel Field in St. Albert.
