In just a few short weeks, dozens of young players will suit up for spring football.

Before that happens, the Airdrie Raiders are practicing hard and building their team for the next season in the Calgary and Area Midget Football Association.

"The number keeps growing every night. We've been practicing twice a week, getting the rust off and getting their heads back into football," says Raiders Head Coach Steve Kemp.

The Raiders started their indoor practices on January 28th and plan to train outdoors by March 13th

Kemp says it's surreal to think that football is almost here.

"We're getting pretty darn close to having to be get ready and we're getting even closer to having them outside on the field."
