The St. Martin de Porres Kodiaks are heading to the Calgary Senior High Sports Athletic Association (CSHSAA) City Championship after a couple thrilling semifinal wins last night (November 16).

Both the senior boys and senior girls were matched up against higher ranked teams for road games.

Going into the playoffs, the senior boys Kodiaks were ranked fourth in the division. Last night they faced the first place Bowness Trojans in Calgary. The Kodiaks managed to eek out an upset, winning three sets in a match that went to five.

In Cochrane, the senior girls Kodiaks had an easy time against the St. Timothy Thunder. The third place Kodiaks won three straight sets against the second place Thunder.

Both teams will now turn their attention to the City Championships which will go at Lord Beaverbrook tomorrow (November 18). At 10:00am, the senior girls will face the top seed James Fowler Falcons. After that, the senior boys will go for gold against the Father Lacombe Lasers at 12:30pm.
