Airdrie's future legends of hockey showed their best skills last weekend (November 10th-12th) in the South Central Alberta Hockey League.

Carter McDermid had arguably the biggest performance for an Airdrie Lightning team as he put up 9 points in just two games for the Peewee White.

On Friday, McDermid scored 2 goals and added 3 assists to help Peewee White to a 8-4 win over the Chestermere Lakers.

The Airdrie forward would then go on to score a hat trick and add an assist on Sunday in an 8-3 win over the Foothills Bisons.

The Bantam Lightning had similar success in their weekend games, thanks to the play of Erik Thoresen.

Thoresen had a hat trick on Friday to help the Lightning beat the Medicine Hat Hounds 5-4, and would add two more goals on Saturday in an 4-3 win over the Taber Golden Suns.

Unfortunately, the Peewee Red didn't have the same success as their counterparts but still had some good plays from their stars.

Mitchell Patrick scored two goals on Saturday in a 7-5 loss to Taber, while Matthew Metcalfe and Tyson Sandhu scored the only goals for the Lightning on Sunday in a 6-2 loss to the Cranbrook Wings.

The Midget Lightning won their only game of the week last Wednesday (November 8th), and are back on the ice on November 18th.
