It was a busy, yet productive weekend for the Airdrie Lightning Elite Women's team in the Alberta Female Hockey League.

In their first game on Saturday (December 2nd), the Lightning were behind at the beginning, trailing the Lethbridge Cyclones 4-3 after the first period.

From there, it was all Airdrie as the Lightning scored 8 unanswered goals to win 11-4. Madison Black of the Lightning had a hat trick in that victory and wasn't done there.

In their next game against the Calgary Fire-White, Black would put home the game winner, while teammate Jolin Bischke scored as well in a nail biting 2-1 win.

With the weekend victories, the Lightning are well ahead in top spot in the Southern Division with 26 points.

The Lightning are back home on December 10th, when they host the Lloydminster Steelers at 4:15pm.
