All four of Airdrie's Elite Men's teams were in action last weekend (November 17th-19th) in the South Central Alberta Hockey League.

Both Peewee teams as well as the Bantam and Midget Lightning had a tie over the weekend, along with some big wins and unfortunate losses.

The Peewee Red tied their first game on Saturday, 4-4 with Red Deer. Benjamin Klassen had two goals in that game.

In their final game on Sunday, the team didn't have an answer for the Wheatland Braves, losing 4-1. Kayl Thibault scored the only goal in that game for the Lightning.

The Peewee White had a tough game offensively in their first game against the Olds Grizzlys, losing 4-2. Zachariah Hardy and Kane Kennedy scored the only goals for the Lightning.

It was a different story in their next game as they tied the Taber Golden Suns 7-7. Cayden Hartnell and Jayden Gallant scored 2 goals each in the game.

The Bantam Lightning continued the trend of ties for the local teams, drawing the Foothills Bisons 4-4 on Friday. Hunter Burgeson notched the game tying goal for the Lightning with less than 3 minutes to go in the third period.

The next day showed that the Lightning didn't need the upper hand to win in the league. A total of six shorthanded goals were scored, including 2 from Joey Haden in a 7-6 win over the Medicine Hat Hounds.

The Midget Lightning had just one game on Saturday, and no surprise it was another draw for a local team. Logan Rutherford scored one goal and added one assist to help the Lightning tie the NWCAA Stamps 4-4.

The Peewee Lightning Teams won't be back on the ice until December 3rd, while the Bantam Lightning wrap up their November with a game against the Bow Valley Timberwolves on the 30th.

The Midget Lightning are the only AA Elite team in action this weekend as they take on the West Central Tigers on Friday, November 24th.
