The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta fell to 1,558 today (October 2), down from yesterday's total of 1,596 as recoveries outpaced new cases in the province. 

That brings to 16,527 the number of people who have recovered from the virus in Alberta.  Today's total of new active cases is 122.  64 Albertans are hospitalized, the same number as there was on Thursday but the number in intensive care rose to 15 from 12 yesterday.

Three more people have died for a total of 272 since the start of the pandemic.  The province conducted 13,379 tests over the past 24 hours.

In Airdrie and Rocky View County (RVC) the numbers are little changed from the previous day.  There are still 14 active cases in the city while a total of 116 Airdronians have recovered from coronavirus, one more than yesterday.

In RVC there is an additional active case for a total of 13 and two more people have recovered for a total of 99.
