On May 10, 38-year-old Airdronian Lynn Perkins passed away from stage four metastatic cervical cancer.

Haley D'Onofrio, one of her two daughters, and Lynn's sister-in-law Sherri Murray have set up a GoFundMe in order to try and help her father, Jason D'Onofrio, with some of the expenses as D'Onofrio says financially it's been a struggle.

Due to the financial troubles, they haven't been able to bury Lynn properly and still have to pay for palliative care despite her passing over a month ago.

"It's been a bunch of small things adding up that's made it very difficult," D'Onofrio said. "Our father has fought hand and foot to make every payment on time, every bill, blood, sweat, and tears to provide as much as he could for his family while being strong."

Lynn Perkins was a mother of three to Hayley(20), Brayden(18), and Kayla(16)) and a wonderful wife to Jason D’Onofrio (42). She was as a caretaker, provider, and loving mother.

D'Onofrio said that her mother was energetic and creative. When she wanted to say something she said it. D'Onofrio also added that she worked at a daycare and loved working with the kids, treating every single one of them like her own. So, when did things change?

Lynn Perkins was going for a routine check-up when she was at the doctor and asked about doing a test to check for any cancers, as it is common for the female side of the family to pass away from cancers.

Initially, The doctor insisted the test was not needed as she was on birth control at the time. Luckily, Lynn insisted. They then did the testing and the doctor physically saw the Tumor.

She was diagnosed with Stage 4 cervical cancer a short while later.

Afterwards, one of the doctors told her, "There's no point in fighting you're going to die".

Regardless of the professional's opinion, Lynn fought, living for nearly two years after the diagnosis. She had her 3 kids and high school sweetheart to live for, so she went through the vigorous rounds of chemo and radiation treatment that would destroy her mentally and physically. Despite the adversity, Perkins still found humour in it, making jokes that she had tattoos now, D'Onofrio said.
