This Tuesday (September 19), Sal's Restaurant is hosting an event to help fundraise for Airdrie Meals on Wheels.

The event is called Amore for Amow which is short for Airdrie Meals on Wheels.

Lois Jones, who is on the board and works in media and public relations for Airdrie Meals on Wheels, is very grateful for Sal's Restaurant hosting this dinner.

"They are paying for all the food and service while we get all the proceeds of the tickets which are $50 per person. That includes bruschetta, salad, chicken parmesan, dessert and coffee. It does not include alcohol."

For those that don't know, Airdrie Meals on Wheels provides nutritious prepared meals to the residents of Airdrie and now Crossfield to those who are unable to shop, cook or prepare meals for themselves.

"We definitely help keep seniors in their homes longer, but anybody struggling coming out of the hospitals recovering from surgery, treatments, things like that where nutrition has been proven to help physical and mental healing. That's what we're there for."

If you are interested in buying a ticket and supporting Airdrie Meals on Wheels, you can send an email to media@airdriemealsonwheels.ca to purchase them.
