Although Airdrie doesn't have a team in the Bantam Elite division of the Alberta Female Hockey League, some local players are still doing their best for another team.

Megan Yakiwchuk is one of those players for the Olds Grizzlys, who were in action for two games last Saturday and Sunday (January 20, 21st).

Yackiwchuk scored the first goal for the Grizzlys in their game against the Calgary Fire-White, with fellow Airdronian Abby McDermid notching the assist.

Unfortunately, the Grizzlys would lose that game to Calgary 4-2.

While Yakiwchuk and McDermid didn't score in their next game against the Lethbridge Cyclones, but the team still came away with a 2-1 win in overtime.

Yakiwchuk leads the Grizzlys in goals with 11 and total points with 15.
